Guitare classique aux alizés. Héritages classiques des Antilles-
The concert “Guitare classique aux antilles” is presented on March 28, 2026, in the recital hall of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. It showcases original works by Afro-Caribbean and Antillean composers—particularly Frantz Casséus, Amos Coulanges, Ludovic Lamothe, and Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges—performed by professional musicians in a stylistic dialogue between classical music and the musical traditions of the Antilles.
The event is part of the Week of Action Against Racism and is presented in collaboration with project partners (UQAM, Department of Music, MISTEC, and the Société de recherche et de diffusion de la musique haïtienne [SRDMH]) with the aim of fostering the pluralization of repertoires and promoting cultural diversity in musical and educational practices.
